Flagstone

Flagstone is a general term used to describe stone that is cut/split in flat and thin slabs so that it can be used to make patios, walkways, stepping stones, steps, and walls. Ramm Rock stocks colorful and attractive natural flagstone from all over the country in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Depending on the stone, this material can be purchased in a variety of thicknesses from 7/8" up to 2" approx.  Thinner stones cover more square footage, which is cost effective when buying by wieght.  Some types of stone are not strong enough to be used very thin, depending on the installation.
